Heroes Myths and Legends of St Brelades Bay

What to expect:

Join your Jersey Uncovered guide for a relaxed wander around the beautiful St Brelade's Bay, where stunning scenery meets thousands of years of fascinating history.

We begin at the Esplanade Gardens and stroll along the promenade towards Le Grouin Point, enjoying sweeping sea views and discovering the cleverly hidden remains of a German fortification from the 1940–45 Occupation.

Depending on the tide, there may be a chance to explore the shoreline near Ouaisne and look up to the world-famous Ice Age site of La Cotte de St Brelade, once home to Neanderthal mammoth hunters.

From the beach, we follow the ancient Perquage path to the peaceful churchyard of St Brelade's Church, an 11th-century gem in a truly spectacular setting. We’ll take time to visit the charming St Brelade's Fisherman's Chapel, where beautiful medieval frescoes still colour the walls.

Along the way, you’ll also hear the remarkable story of French artists and resistance fighters Claude Cahun and Marcel Moore, who carried out daring and imaginative acts of defiance during the Occupation.

This easy-paced walk blends natural beauty, island history and inspiring stories — the perfect way to experience one of Jersey’s most loved bays.
